Meet The Team: Rachel Sutherland

Before founding Rachel Sutherland Communications, Rachel was a journalist for more than 14 years, most recently as Style Editor at the Charlotte Observer, the largest daily newspaper in the Carolinas.
As an editor at a major daily newspaper, Rachel was inundated with press releases and pitches of all shapes and sizes. She proved to be a quick study for assessing news value in a crowded marketplace.
Simply, she knows what works.
She has a keen eye for trend-spotting, a sharp wit and the ability to produce her best work on deadline. Her writing and styling has appeared in Charlotte Magazine, SouthPark Magazine and UCity Magazine, as well as newspapers across the country.
She is a guest blogger for SouthPark Magazine and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, and was named one of the top five Most Stylish People in Charlotte by Charlotte Style magazine.
The Michigan native is a graduate of Wayne State University, and lives in the Charlotte area with her husband and two children. She is on the board of Tri It For Life, a non-profit training group for first time female athletes, as well as a board member for the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN).
A self-professed shoe fiend, she also dabbles in handbag coveting. She is a frustrated crafter and adores all things vintage, especially textiles and jewelry.
