Events: Human Rights Campaign Gala 2012

The 17th annual Human Rights Campaign North Carolina Gala is returning to Charlotte in 2012 after being held in Raleigh for two years. Scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, the event will be held at the Charlotte Convention Center.

HRC hosts annual galas throughout the country as fund-raisers to support its many efforts to achieve the organizational mission "to build an America where Lesbian, Gay, bisexual and Transgender families and individuals can be open, honest and safe... at work, at home and in the community."

Aloft Charlotte will serve as host hotel during the 2012 HRC N.C. Gala Weekend in Charlotte. Planning has begun with details to follow on tickets prices, schedule of events and featured speakers.

The Human Rights Campaign represents a force of more than one million members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, HRC envisions an America where LGBT people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.

Founded in 1980, HRC currently has more than 1 million members and supporters, including more than 23,000 in North Carolina. For more information, visit www.hrccarolina.org.
