Events: Brief! A Fete for Fashion

Sexy men strutting down a runway in designer underwear? Yes. Helping raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation? Absolutely. Charlotte’s most talked-about social event - Brief! A Fete for Fashion - returned Oct. 2, at Extravaganza Depot.

The chic event is the brainchild of Dan Mauney, co-owner of Sloan and Step by Sloan boutiques. He was inspired to action in 2009 by Oliver, the son of friend and business partner Jill Pleune. Oliver, age 2, was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic disease.

Mauney and media sponsor 96.1 FM The Beat raised more than $28,000 at this year's event. The centerpiece of the night is the runway show featuring 25 delicious male models wearing underwear and swimwear from Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, 2Xist, Mundo Unico and Pistol Pete, among others.
